Do what you love, love what you do - this has always been my motto but music is my greatest love and the one constant through my life that has included various reincarnations as astrophysicist, project manager, wife, mother, fundraiser, bellydance teacher and now performer, writer and producer.   This variety has influenced and shaped Bianca Grooves - a dynamic blend of deep funk, sultry blues, smooth soul and with  jazzy neosoul.  Originally steeped in the jazz world, once I started writing, recording, and producing original music I never stopped. I love all music and draw inspiration from an eclectic mix of songs and sounds from all decades.  The minimalistic jazz sounds of Miles Davis in the 50's, the bluesy, soul-stirring lyrics of Nina Simone in the 60's, the funky rhythms of 70’s idols Bill Withers and Stevie Wonder, the 80's beat-driven hip-hop like RUN-DMC and Salt-N-Pepa, the 90's blend of hip-h and jazz groove of Mos Def, all of the pop influences of 200's -it's all fair game and part of my playground of inspiration. ​ ​

Music is about the energy and flow between the players as well as melody and groove and I have been blessed to work with some of the most talented musicians/amazing people in the music scene.   Since the beginning of my career I have worked with my core group of musicians, Clifford Carter on keys (James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Rosanne Cash, Art Garfunkel, Cyndi Lauper, Idina Menzel, Linda Ronstadt), Larry Saltzman on guitar (Simon and Garfunkel, Bette Midler, Carole King, Jewel, David Johansen, Michael Stipe, Darlene Love, Saturday Night Live, Dr. John, Celine Dion) and Marc Shulman on guitar (Suzanne Vega, Edie Brickell, Celine Dion, Vanessa Williams, Marc Anthony).  I have also had the privilege of playing with other accomplished musicians such as Joe Bonadio on drums (Sting, Roseanne Cash, Marc Cohn, Michael Franks, Grover Washington, Chuck Mangione, Avril Levigne, Sharon Colvin, Spin Doctors), Jeff Allen on bass (Suzanne Vega, Duncan Sheik, Chris Botti, Wicked Original Broadway Cast Recording), Sammy Wags, Chris Conte, Malcom Gold and many others who have enriched my music with their expertise. I have had the pleasure of having my songs covered and produced by other artists, including the legendary producer Bob Rock.
